* When should I sow salads?
All salads are cold-resistant plants. The seeds germinate at a temperature of only +2+4°C, and sprout on the 3-4th day at a temperature of +10°C. Young shoots can withstand frosts down to -2°C, and grown plants - even down to -5-6°C!
Therefore, salads can be sown in open ground when coltsfoot is flowering. For example, in Estonia, this period falls at the end of April or the very beginning of May. In a greenhouse for growing seedlings, salads can be sown as early as the twenties of April.
Salads are often grown through seedlings to avoid thickening of plantings. Most salads are ready for consumption 30 days after emergence.

Carrots are a vitamin-rich root crop that stores well.
Beets are nutritious and versatile, great for salads, soups and juices.
Legumes are rich in vegetable protein and at the same time improve soil fertility, saturating it with nitrogen.
